[Addon] Match Render Visibility 1.0.1 (free)
I made my first addon! This make render visibility consistent with viewport visibility. I saw my renders were screwing up to human error when one of many objects were missed, this helps.
– Add collection visibility toggles
– Improve the UX by updating the UI to the outliner a bit
– Add a way to also key the visibility of both things, or changes.

Cool, and gratulations. I need to have a look at it tomorrow 🙂

I did a little update based on feedback and cleaned up a little of the code. It’s really simple really.. Just.. it’s a QC workflow fix because I miss the 2.79 Show Render only operator…

Shall we include it in Bforartists? 🙂
I am just not sure if we should activate it by default. It is a very special addon. And i don’t see that the masses really need it. We have Disable in Viewports off by default …

I have experimented a bit more. I’m currently taking a look at the Hide functionality as the check, to match which is engrained to the 3D View, and also matching that up. The hide operators-column can’t be animated though, only the viewport hide. I still don’t get why Blender did that.
I did make a Show Rendered Only button to a degree yesterday as a test, which can’t revert too easily like in BFA1, but it is useful.
I also wanted to add ability for animation recording of changes for MG, but yeah, it is a bit of a special addons mainly for rendering, but a button that would show only rendered might be UX friendly enough and.. yes, make more sense – without all the special use cases that I’m thinking of and would use it for..
I guess I’ll make a task for that.

Have fun 🙂

[Addon] Ok, getting a good update for my Match Render Visibility addon to 1.0.3!
Coming soon.. very soon.
Hints on updates: Blender 2.79 Show Render, Simplified UX and better tooltips, custom Blender/Bforartists compatibility, works with 3D View hidden objects, etc!
I managed to figure out how to check if a menu exists, and add to the correct one accordingly, so in BFA, it will load into the outliner view menu instead of the 3D View menu, which doesn’t make too much sense.
I also got it to work with the Hidden options. I also.. made it simpler concerning a UX. Still got a little more to do, then I’ll update it.

[Addon] Match Render Visibility 1.0.4 Bug Fix!
Fix: wasn’t installing to Blender because the outliner has no view menu. Doh! Bforartists yes. I have now moved the operators in the outliner to the filter menu. The 3D View panel is still the same.
– Added the ability to check collection viewport and render visibility.
– Added Show Render only so that it hides overlays, widgets, and shows only render object and collections.
– Add the ability to match from object hidden visibility
– Improved tooltips and UI entries.

Yes, there are a few small differences between Blender and Bforartists ^^

But when you look at it closely, the differences are huge. Lately, the discord crowd have been leaving in great comments. Specially from people coming in from Max and Maya.

That was the plan 😀

I got a shout out on my first addon! Definitely will take a look at making it.. less destructive. Check out his little fun review.
