Bforartists is a federation of independent developers, with the goal to develop the 3D software Bforartists. It is non profit and purely based on volunteer work.
Bforartists is a free and open source 3D creation suite and it provides a full 3D pipeline. From modeling, uv mapping, texturing, rigging, animation, rendering up to post processing. It includes also Python scripting and also a video editor and a game engine.
Bforartists is cross-platform and is licenced under the GNU General Public License (GPL). This means everybody is welcome to improve Bforartists with patches, as long as it fits the Bforartists usability philosophy.
You are free to use Bforartists for any purpose, including commercial or education. This freedom is being defined by the GNU General Public License (GPL).
Bforartists wants to provide an easy to learn and to use 3D creation suite for hobbyists and small indie developers. This is guaranteed by a useage philosophy that is centered around a intuitive to learn and to use graphical UI. And a simplified workflow.
The other aspect of the philosophy covers the development and is the more pragmatic way to deal with the GPL V3 license. We don’t want to break it, but we want to bend it where needed. In first place are the users and their needs.
Bforartists is an open source software and is licensed under the GPL V3 license. You want to get involved in our mission to provide Bforartists as a free and open source Blender fork? Then please get in touch with our staff soon!
We need programmers. It is the code that makes the software! But helping hands for all the other tasks are also welcome. Documentation is as important as the code.
Our wiki needs to be filled with content. We need tutorials. We need moderators. And we need users that can help other users. So there is quite a bunch of things that you can do to get involved.
