Sure, we could go on for years, and still find something to simplify and to improve. But that’s just valid with the 2.7x line. 2.8 changes the game in many aspects.
Siggraph is middle of august. I think the 12th. And the code quest goes until siggraph. Then we first have to analyze everything. And then we can decide in what direction we go and what changes makes sense.
Chances are small. But it can even happen that 2.8 makes the fork obsolete. They do lots of things right at the moment. I personally won’t do changes just for the sake of changes. So let’s lay back, have a break for the three months, and wait what happens. We deserve this break, we have three years of hard work behind us
