We want to follow the nice tradition of Blender to deliver every new Bforartists version with a new splash screen image. I usually do them by myself. But we are open to include any user submission too.
So when you want to see one of your images as the Bforartists splash screen image, every donation is welcome26. May 2017 at 17:41 #17038DraiseParticipant

And it’s verticle… but it was part of an opensource project I started and never went very far with.
But it could be someting. Are there dimension limits or you can crop?
It would make me pretty chuffed. Maybe first art from Bforartist should go..26. May 2017 at 18:44 #17039
Nice image. Unfortunately it doesn’t fit into the splash screen space
Forgot to add the size of the image. The splash screen image must be the size of 1002×564 pixels4. August 2017 at 8:45 #17339
I would like to suggest a little “Splash Screen Challenge” for this.
Use the attached model of the B for Artists symbol to create an engaging scene, that features the logo in some way. – The logo might become a big rock overgrown by foliage, or it might float in space consisting of pure energy, it might be a bright white object in a white space, or covered with gemstones and hanging from the necklace of a beautiful woman …. anything goes, just be creative with it.
The image size should be 1002×564 pixels as mentioned above.
– Is anyone in?6. August 2017 at 7:32 #17353
I fear we don’t have enough active users for such a contest yet. But you can simply attach every image that you would like to see as the next splash screen
The one for the upcoming version 0.9.3 is already done though. That would be for 0.9.4 then.6. August 2017 at 10:19 #17354
Yes, it seems so, I believe something like this would be a great opportunity to get more people giving the software a try as well. – Then the “challenge” should be announced on a forum with more active users though. ^^`6. August 2017 at 10:26 #17355

So I finally created an image in BfA, that I feel comfortable with proposing for a splash screen. – What do you think, would this work?11. November 2017 at 7:24 #18192
Shut up and take my … Yeah, looks great
The next Bforartists version will arrive with Blender 2.79b. This Blender version is planned for december. And there we can use this splash screen then
Do you have a PNG version of the image too?11. November 2017 at 9:29 #18197
Cool. Some PNG images are attached in the ZIP file. – For the version number I used Ubuntu as the font and aligned the width of the text with the “artists” lettering of the logo. Maybe that is something to follow for the splash screen layout for consistency throughout the versions?11. November 2017 at 10:06 #18199
Just when you are willing to do all the splash screens for the next 10.000 years
The font for the name isn’t this important. Give me a bitmap layer with it, and we can reuse and reposition it at further splash images. The font for the version number has to be a standard font though since we use a Gimp file here, and change it in Gimp. And we cannot guarantee that everybody who ever modifies the splash image knows about your favourite font
I have attached the Gimp file so that you can have a look at it.11. November 2017 at 10:54 #18202
I don´t have gimp installed unfortunately. – Regarding the font, that´s why companies have so called “brand manuals”, where they describe in detail, what fonts to use, how to exactly place the logo on a page, how to use colors, photography, etc. That way they ensure a consistent image without anyone just choosing their favorite font or color for an application. – Consistency in small details like this is a huge part of the professional look.
Just for kicks, here is a huge collection of such manuals. … https://www.designtagebuch.de/wiki/corporate-design-manuals/
Here is the image without any text on it.11. November 2017 at 11:24 #18203

it looks pretty good, but I want to remind you of the use of black, it is too dark and the image is lost, if you make it a bit lighter or reflect light of another color to contrast the image it would look very good, it would fill it up personally of red and would use a black color as charcoal that would give a little more presence would be more aggressive art, with more view22. In case a new splash screen is needed at some point, I would like to propose “Grandmas´ Treasure Chest” for this. I think it can work quite nicely as the splash and was modeled and rendered from scratch in BforArtists.
