Edit Mode - remove the Special menu

The Special menu is one of those bullshit UI decisions in Blender. A so called specials menu that nobody needs. Nothing special anywhere. Some menu items are double entries, some odd functionality that nobody uses. Can be called by G

Task: distribute the non double entries into the standard menus. Then remove the hotkey.

Okay, let's have a closer look here at what we have.

Subdivide - Double menu entry. Remove
Subdivide Smooth - In general the same than Subdivide, but with a smoothness of 1. Obsolete since you can adjust the smoothness in the Operator field. Remove

Merge - Double menu entry. Remove
Remove Doubles - Double menu entry. Remove
Hide - Double menu entry. Remove
Reveal - Double menu entry. Remove
Select Inverse - Double menu entry. Remove

Flip Normals - Double menu entry. Remove
Smooth - Double menu entry. Remove
Laplacian Smooth - Nowhere to find. Needs Menu entry. Best place seems tool shelf below Smooth

Inset Faces - Double menu entry. Remove
Bevel - Double menu entry. Remove
Bridge Edge Loops - Double menu entry. Remove

Shade Smooth - Double menu entry. Remove
Shade Flat - Double menu entry. Remove

Blend from Shape - Double menu entry. Remove
Shape Propagate - Double menu entry. Remove
Select Shortest Path - Double menu entry. Remove
Sort Mesh Elements - Calls the sort Elements submenu. Remove
Symmetrize - Double menu entry. Remove
Snap to Symmetry - Double menu entry. Remove
 

Task: add menu entry for laplacian smooth.
Task: remove the whole specials menu in edit mode.
Task: remove hotkey G to call the special menu.
